Directors fiscal liability

Description

In a constantly evolving legal and tax landscape, company directors must pay particular attention to their legal and tax risks exposure. This course is designed to provide company directors with practical skills to properly assess how and if his/her personal liability may be invoked during the course of his/her duties as director. While company directors play an active role in the strategy and success of a business, this role comes with responsibilities of which directors must be aware. In this regard, company directors are under an obligation to ensure the company complies with its tax obligations, most particularly withholding and paying any taxes due by the company, including VAT. Failure of the director to fulfil his/her obligations may lead to a personal responsibility to settle taxes that remain unpaid by the company itself. This course aims to provide company directors with an overview of their liabilities as a company director with respect to taxes in Luxembourg and notably in a cross-border context, while discussing how to mitigate and tackle these risks in the framework of their professional duties. Objectives: - Have a clear understanding of your liability as a company director ; - Be able to monitor and identify the risks inherent to your role ; - Undertake the appropriate measures to mitigate the risk and - Understand the potential consequences for your personal wealth.
