Theatre Tools for professionals
Description
In our Workshop “Theatre Tools for professionals” participants will be trained in Acting Topics such as vocal techniques, non-verbal communication, gesture and emotional connection. Attendees will improve their empathy, deep listening and communication skills through improvisation and storytelling. This workshop triggers an active process of interpretation and restructuring of reality. Actors of a theatre company are called upon to portray and play a role, just as company members have their own roles and objectives, which, if achieved, lead to success of the whole organisation.
During the Workshop we will set up Theatre sketches, to improve attendees’ empathy and deep listening skills. A unique storytelling performance will be developed through improvisations and ITT “Image Theatre Technique©” in which participants arrange themselves in “tableaux vivants” using their bodies, costumes and props; this technique enhances relational and communication abilities while reducing misunderstandings and releasing emotions. Participants will work individually, in small teams or as group.
The storytelling experience and the Theatre sketches creation enable participants to share the challenges and meaningful issues they have been through during their professional experience, using creative strategies and lateral thought and bringing people to cooperate in a playful setting. Every career is made up of stories, characters, setbacks and successes, goals to achieve and challenges to face. Framing one's own professional identity, learning to handle narrative techniques and tools, knowing how to reach an audience and, above all, looking at work with different eyes: working on Theatre Tools means training a new way of thinking, not just learning new abilities.
